well i see this as possibly a problem-my spur gear when turned does not travel in an even plain when veiwed from the side.if i put an dial indicator on its face and roll the gear it runs probably .080" out of plumb.what this may due is create a binding point on the cluthbell and also it will make it eat into one of the to gears and then i will need replacement.i assume its either the slipper pad or else the bearing.could be a bent shaft that the spur is mounted on-anyway it this a common problem, its been like this since new?am i worrying to much about this.
all i know is if the faces of the cluchbell and spur gear are miss aligned the mess will be poor.
any tips on what to check.
do i need to shim the whole tranny to fix this, that seems way outta reality

sorry bro, dint see that in your post. still think your ok tho as long as you mesh her right.

Does the slipper clutch wobble too? If not the problem may be the slipper pad like you suggested. What about the rod which comes out of the tranny where the spur is attached? Is this stable when you rotate it?

I never heard about shimming the tranny, I don't think the issue is in there. But I'm no expert so I could be wrong.
