I'm sure this has been posted before but I have a savage 21 and I strip my spur gesr almost every time I run it. I'm using the factory 49t gesr and my engine is all the way pushed over and has good contact but not enough I guess. Anyway is there a metal one out there that's better? ?

There are different metal ones but with a good mesh a plastic one should last a long time.
Can you post a pic of the stripped spurs? Maybe there is a different reason you strip them.

I agree with the comments above. A 49T spur is well within the realm of adjustability, unless you have a very small clutch bell. What clutch bell are you currently using?

A 49T spur fits down to a 15T clutch bell (without modification).

I'll will send some pictures but it's all stock clutch bell and everything. I have had many rc and used to race a little bit si I'm just puzzled why my engine is bottomed out on the spacing and I'm stripping them

count the teeth on the clutchbell gear and then check the spec page X posted and see if you in that range.... should be no smaller than 13 and no bigger than 16 by what I read there.... as always a couple good pictures also may be of help

I think you misread the chart, Jam. For a 49T spur the stock engine plate/ TVPs will allow 15T to 20T clutch bells.

If you are indeed stock and you know for sure that your spur and clutch bell teeth count is where you think it is, then you need to start looking for chassis damage. Cracks and warping. I would first look at the engine plate and engine mount. Also look at the TVPs, minor bends in the TVPs can toss your whole chassis out of whack.

Hopefully you can post up some pictures showing the area so we can help you further.

No worries. Just wanted to make sure the OP had the correct info. We all know your info is usually good. 🙂

I'm having issue keeping my spur gear form coming lose. Maybe its my lrp to damm strong. I'm runing 47rrp spur and hpi 20t. Pls somebody HEEELP

Well i took the spring off and used 2lock nuts! Lol n lock thight. That was yeaterday. I haven't had no issues yet. Doesnt come lose quickly. After sum lrp abuse it would give up. Cant ride today its raining

Yeah, locknut and locktite. Two nuts and no spring means no slipper really. Then again, I have mine compressing the spring all the way so it doesn't slip much (if at all) with the LRP28S3 in it.
