Hello all

2nd day of running my new Savage X 4.6.
Was running on a huge parking lot so I could enjoy watching/ hearing it scream into 2nd when all of a sudden truck stopped and there was a loud screaming sound. Spur gear got eaten. Questions:

Bell gear looks ok so I only ordered the plastic stock 47t gear. Should I replace the clutch bell too?

What about Robinson steel gear and bell? Advateges? Disadvantages?

Thanks all!

Robinson Racing is the best spur bell combo ever to come down the pike, make sure to get both spur and bell because a stock bell will get eaten in minutes by the hard spur, I am using the 48/16 hard bell/spur set and I will never look back....

Thanks Jam Racing.

I already ordered a stock spur gear, but have a feeling I will blow through that quickly, so will take your advice and also order the combo you suggested. Can you explain why you suggest the 48/16 vs. the 47/17 that comes stock on the new Savage X 4.6?

I just said I am using the 48/16, RRP has several sizes to choose from on their site so I say use what works for you. BTW I am also running an AXIAL .32 rr in my rig and those gears were with the basket savage I bought so I just used them. I do know I get plenty of low end power enuff to cause wheelies at almost any speed 😀

thanks for all the advice the last couple of days! I just wasn’t sure of the difference between 47/17 and 48/16 is all. I am going to go ahead and order the steel ones. I guess I better order the clutch pads too. Thanks again
