Hey,

I was wanting to double check something. For the people that have a 2.4GHz radio do you guys keep the antenna inside the radio box. Or do you just have a smaller Antenna coming out of top. Right now I just have cut down an antenna tube and have it coming out of the body.

Thanks,
Shawn

from what I've read, Spektrum still reccomends running the antenna vertically...the reception suffers if it's horizontal...as far as I know most people run them vertically, but most of them keep the antenna tube under the body...

I run a Futaba 3PM 2.4 system on both my savages and my truggy. I've never had a problem with placement of the antennae. doesn't seem to mind if it's horizontal, vertical, off at an angle, etc. I've always had great reception with it.

I had about a 4 inch piece of antenna tube left when I upgraded to the 2.4 system so I used that then ran the rest of the antenna back down the outside and slid fuel tubing over it so there is no exposed antenna wire and it is all inside the body. I can post a pic later tonight if you like

I had issue with loosing signal and my antenna was laying down. Horizon tech service will tell you the same.

I run the Futaba 2.4 systems and have never had issues with them loosing signal. Doesnt matter the direction or position of the antenna. I do try to use a cut off antenna tube and have the stick up thought but have placed them in the box and things before.

I run the spektrum 2.0 and mine won't come out of the body so I just leave it under the body and under the roll bar.

I KNEW I had heard that somewhere before...thanks Blazer...

dunno if it makes a difference fellas, but he asked specifically about the Spektrum...LOL

I have mine the same as savage_25. Its in a short tube but tucked under the roll bar. Seems to work fine.

I've had a Spektrum DX3 since long before I got this Savage. Per Spektrum, I cut the antenna much shorter than out of the box. As they said, it didn't affect range at all. I do run my antenna tube somewhat vertically, I just tuck it under the rollbar, same way as I did with the stock radio box.

Thanks for the help guys. I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right, it's alot of money for a 17 year old like myself.
