I Have A Question About A Receiver For The Spektrum Dx 2.0 Remote. Can You Use Any Receiver For This Or Do You Have To Buy There Spektrum Receiver? If Anybody Can Help With This I Would Appreciate It Thanks.

You need the spectrum reciever as its digital and both are 2.4Ghz and there arn't many other 2.4's out other than some of the Futaba stuff. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

I'm thinking of going with the DX3.0. I found one brand new in sealed box on ebay with Z590 High Torque Race servos(2), DSM reciever, and switch. Just don't know if I'm going to push that buy now button or not is the thing.

Edit: I couldnt help passing that deal up. So I went and head and bought. I think this is it for a while for me on upgrades. Bad thing is brand new, never even broke in. I figured I just get all the stuff I can get for now, and then start adding more as time goes. And that time will be a good while now lol.

You can use any spektrum receiver with any spektrum radio. Futaba's system is not compatible with the spektrum though. I'm using the DX3.0 and it works great. It has good range and a built in failsafe.
Hope this helps

Curious...Do the Losi 2.4Ghz receivers count as Spektrum-compatible? They pretty much are the same company, and I would imagine a better deal could be found on a Losi unit. I could be wrong (again) though...

I don't think so bro because of the whole frequency hopping thing that the spectrum does. I could be wrong tho.

The Losi 2.4 Ghz radios do the same thing. They even say DSM on them, just like Spektrum. Both Losi & Spektrum are Horizon Hobby companies, and the higher-end Losi products come with actual Spektrum radios...see the pattern I'm looking at? I'm thinking there must be some product compatibility. Makes no sense for the same company to design two totally different 2.4Ghz systems. I could still be wrong tho, LOL!

Either way, I just looked on Ebay and the Losi receivers are going for more than the Spektrums! Go figure...

Some of the stock radios on the Losi products like the 8ight-B/T, LST and so on are using the Spektrum 2.4Ghz DSM radio which are either the DX2.0 or the DX3.0. Which is also the radio that SAVDOG is talking about. So no all the spektrum recievers will not work with this remote you will need the Reciever that works with the 2.4Ghz DSN technology radios. These are the ones with the short antenna.

Sorry if I'm being confusing. You see, my DX3 transmitter, my SPM1200 Rx that came with it, and EVERY Losi-branded 2.4 GHz system is DSM technology. That was the only reason I was wondering about compatibility.

Larsen can you say that again? You lost me...
The losi 2.4ghz radios are spektrum radio systems. If you have any doubt about the receiver compatibility just check the spektrum site directly or email them. They are pretty quick responding.

Drivefastgto- If I'm not mustaken the DX3 is the 2.4Ghz Radio and the SPM1200 Rx are both 2.4Ghz. To my understanding the recieve that works with the old spektrum 75Mhz, 27Mhz and so on will not work with the 2.4Ghz Tx. Sorry I'm lost in what you are asking. LOL I feel stupid.

:dunno: What you're saying about 2.4GHz not working with AM or FM makes perfect sense, of course. Did Spektrum ever make anything but 2.4GHz DSM systems? If so, that would be news to me, because I thought that was JR's job at Horizon. No worries, larsenracing.

ok according to the spektrum site the SPM1200 and the sr3000 are the same receiver. As long as the receiver is a spektrum 2.4ghz it will work with any of their 2.4ghz radios. As far as I know the only JR makes the am/fm radios, they arent branded as spektrum

All *I'm* asking is if my Spektrum DX3 Tx will work with a Losi DSM Rx. It would be convenient if I get a Mini-Slider or MLST2, or if I happen to find a deal on a Losi Rx to replace the "missing" Spektrum Rx in my RC18T.

I'm all in agreement here...

Yes the MLST2 2.4ghz losi receivers work with the spectrum transmitters. I just picked up 2 MRX-3000 receivers from ebay for $54 each that come in the MLST2 and I think also the slider to use with my DX3. I haven't tested these 2 receivers yet but I have used these receivers before with the DX3. My friend drives his MLST2 with the stock MRX-3000 receiver with his DX3. Also note the $40 2.4ghz losi transmitter works with the specktrum receivers also.

Thank you Tim! :resp: I was hoping someone here could give some first-hand info to back up our speculation.
