I've seen more than a couple Savages with only two shocks up front. What's the benefit there?

I agree with the less parts to break. Besides the post Jcam posted, i feel most people going to one shock per wheel are using Bigger shocks like LST's, or metal. Or these savages are seeing more race duties then bash duties. Since the 8 shocks are more for the abuse we put savages through when bashing. Race or street savy can get away with less suspension.

Some people run only two stock (or comparable) shocks up front for racing. This gives the stuck both a lower stance, and must less resistance during turns. While this method isn't really going to be good for bashing, it does make a pretty big difference in a race.

Now, there's also different options for shocks as well. Some people have LST big bore shock conversions on their trucks, which are bigger stronger shocks. Another big bore option would be the HPI Big Bores, but they haven't officially been released as of yet.

Also, some types of suspension upgrades change the aspect of how the suspension works; as jcam's link shows.

But, for the most part, people running only two shocks up front are looking for good hookup during hard turns. 🙂
