shock springs need help

Okay today i bought some shock springs for the savage x 4.6. When I tried to put them on they didn't fit the shock body or retainer. I have the stock big bore sport plastic shocks. I need your guys help to give ideas on how to make it fit. I already tried just forcin it on... And my lhs dodoesnt accept returns so yeah. Thanks

if the new springs do not fit, then they are the wrong springs, you may have bought springs for the 8 shock versions they are much smaller diameter than the big bores are....
