Finally purchased some hpi bb shocks,i was reading some past posts and in one of them it said compress shock then cap them how far should i compress them, also what would 40 wt be to thick to start with, and are they going to make the truck sit high or does it lower the truck some what, reason i ask yhis is my standard shocks have been moded to sit lower,i know this are proberly silly questions but any help would be great

If you want them to sit lower than replace the BBs shafts with hellfire shafts.

I would start with 30wt first.

Also 1.6 pistons are a good starter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think which oil you use will affect how high or low the truck will sit. I think it only affects your shock's rebound/damping effect, or in other words, how fast the shock can move up and down when reacting to bumps. I run 30wt for bashing and have no problems with it.

i think you are right the thing that affects ride height is springs and preload clips.
