Take the spring out of the brake side. I don't have any spring or tubing on my throttle/brake rods. If you want a few pics let me know

yes pics would be great thanks. I'm will to try anything at this point, iv tried everything i can think of and it still engages in both direction forward and backward i don't understand it.

well i went ahead and bought scotts throttle/brake linkages there done properly so that should fix my problem.

but in the mean time while i wait for them to get here i worked on some other parts of my truck just for fun and i added some lights to it:

that took like 2 hours or so to get installed, there in but crudly, lol i soldered the old on/off switch i had before upgrading to the 2.4ghz remote, so now i can turn them off and on with a swithch i like it i know its not practical but i think it looks cool and adds personal touch.

Sorry had to work today here are the pics of my setup. I was wrong i have 1 spring to return the throttle/brake to 100% neutral position.

Like they said many different ways. I have ran 2 tanks of fuel and no issues with my setup. Once you feel good like bank said cut off the extra rod if you prefer.

if you bought my old linkages from scott, there are pics of how to install them in my build thread. i have the pics in my photobucket also.

well i got some more work done on my project got the motor in and the pipe on and the fuel lines hooked up. i was worried about the uneveness of the CB and spur gear but on the advise of freddy I'm going to leave it alone.

i also strapped all my tires and glued them down.

i moved the rush battery box to the back of my rig so i would have more room up front i also moved the switch for my lights to the front shock tower hopefully more protection there.

now i just need to paint my new body and get the linkages from scott and i will be ready to start breaking in this beast.

will get pics of it with the tires on it soon.

Well i finally finished my project, just want to thank everybody for helping me through this with the problems i was having and taking the time to help, and savvyscott thanks again for the tvps and all the other goodies you sent me too, made this alot easier to do. first off i finished the body: i keeped it simple for 2 main reasons first, cause i don't have all the fancy painting stuff, and second its just going to get destroyed anyway, lol:

now to explain the "2 in one savage" part i know some maybe wondering what i mean. first you have to understand my wife to be would have KILLED ME if i would have boughten another one of these "things" she wasn't to happy about the fact that this savage was my second rc i bought first was an exceed tectonic (big mistake, lol) so i had to think of a way that i could have both so instead of buying a nitro one i desided to make a 2 in one savage were as i can just switch out the middle section of my savage i keeped the flux stuff all together like so:
fluxsection1.jpg

fluxsection2.jpg

its a little more work than i thought it would be to switch them over but can be done and now i have a savage that pulles double duty it can either be a flux or a xl if i run out of fuel just take a few and switch it back to a flux, if I'm fed up with nitro for a while i can switch it back to a flux, if i want to give nitro a go again i can switch it back you get the picture so thats my project hope that you liked it if not oh well can't please everyone, lol. look for running vids of it soon unless it get to darn cold before i finish break in.

well i decided to switch from nitro to electric to see how long it would take me it took about 30 to 40 minutes to completely switch from nitro to electic. the nitro was frustrating me so i switched didn't take as long as i thought it would.

although at the moment it takes longer to switch it back to nitro cause I'm still sharing the steering servo, so it takes longer but i think its still worth the effort cause if I'm out bashing and i ran out of fuel i can switch it to electric and still continue to bash, and when i get some fuel switch it back again.
