Greetings I was told I should try out and SH engine but not given much detail around that. I Googled it but still don't quite understand. It's still and ABC engine right? Is SH a brand or make? Forvgive my rookie question, :withstupid: at this.

The old SH 28 was a go to engine 5+ years ago for a basher. Was on par with the lower end dynamite engines (like the mach 26/28) as far as wear/power/tunability. I know there were some that were "the same" as the LRP28, but from my experience, they didn't have the life of an LRP. Or at least the SH 28 I had. It lasted 3-4 gallons before it became a tuning headache even though it had ok compression whereas I have run many more gallons through my oldest LRP and it's still a good performer.

Then again, I had the "bashers" 28 at the time from SH, so 4 gallons of life out of a $130 engine with decent power isn't that bad. 7+ gallons out of a $175 LRP is still better in my book. 🙂

If you look on that site here: http://www.shengines.com/product2.asp?dsn=1776

You can see the engines that actually look like the older dynamite mach engines:

This is probably very similar to the old SH I had many years ago:

Looking at the engine line up, they are very similar to the dynamite versions sold here. Back then, XTM also had engines that looked like the SH engine and eventually the XTM vehicles started just running SH branded engines.

My XTM MMT came with the SH.28 blackheaded :ercm: in it, I bet I ran 7 gallons thru it before wearing it out.... easy to tune and holds its's tune well, since been replaced by an OFNA .32 :ercm: last year......
