Whats the best brand for a steering servo? Also what are the dimensions for a "standard" size servo? :dunno:

A digital high torque servo for steering on a savage. By high i mean like 250+ oz/in
 
Ace DS1015, probably the best, most reliable servo on the market today

I also like the hitec 5955TG servo, but alot of people have problems with hitec servos hence why i would put the ace above it

I'm not sure its enough torque for what hes looking for.

I'm using the Hitec 5955TG for my steering servo on my truck. It's digital, titanium gears, and coreless motor. I haven't had any problems with it since I finished custom building my truck. The first I took the truck out for a run after it was finished, a buddy and I went to the parking lot at BJ's. Only cuz it was around 9:30 at night and he was on call for work so he could go to far. Anyways, before I cranked the truck up, I went through the usual routine of checking to make sure the servos were working right and all that. But, what I didn't realize was that I had a near dead battery and with the truck sitting on asphalt, the servo still was able to turn the wheels lock to lock. Just some info for you to chew on and my opinion/experiance.

i would say spend money on good servo's. will save you money in the long run. the amount of people at our track who constantle replace cheap servos (this seems to include hitec 645mg's) is unbelievable.
 
I haven't gone digital because the TX I have works well enough for me, I suppose.

I do have the hi-tech 645mg and it's doing me a good service so far.

I would consider something more powerful if I was running bigger tires and rims.

And get this, Poly.
I'm going to install 17mm hexes.

This is because my purchase of Pro Line Rage 30's welded (glued too good to remove) on some 17mm rims demanded it.
