Is there any reason I shouldn't use a thin bead of gasket maker to seal up my diffs especially if I fill the diff, put the bead around the top of the cup, carefully place the gear on and screw it down tight, leaving it in that upright position for a day to cure? I'm not talking a huge bead that would ooze into the cup and eventually become floating around. Just enough to seal it. Cups are aluminum Novas...Thanks for the input...

An O ring would be a great idea if they machined a groove for it but it doesn't exist. The worst case scenario is the diff ends up leaking...I may try it.
