i have a freind with a savage xl all bone stock it brand new he stripped out the clutchbell and i gave him a stock 16 t vented one we installed it and now his clutchbell sits to far up against his spurgear its like less than half on we took all washers off and we even checked and tightend down the nut on the crank shaft between the clutch shoes and it made it better but the spurgear still does not have a true lineup it still set back does anyone know how to get more clearence after all washers have been removed and the nut has been tightend can i shave a little off the top of the nut or will it make the front part of the clutch shoes rub against clutchbell

is the flywheel set as close to the engine as possible? the collet on the crank shaft the flywheel goes on is it against the bearing on the motor? if not you can take fly wheel off n push the collet closer to engine then place flywheel back on to get lil more clearance...

Is it a clutchbell for the savy or a universal one? The universal ones used to stick out more an rub my brakes.
