I noticed that the rear wheel alignment on my Savage XL changes depending on how high or low the the truck sits. When the truck is sitting up high, the wheels point straight ahead, if the truck sits low, the wheels turn outward. It seems to me this would be a problem steering on rough terrain where the suspension is moving up and down.
Does anyone know if this is normal, or is there something I'm missing. I will try to post a video or still pics.

Thanks,

Patrick

first off welcome to the forum!!! secondly yes the wheels can get out of alignment you have to adjust the turnbuckles to center the tires better, when i took my sav x out of the box my 1 tire was pointing out farther then the others... lol

Can you please post some pics of the hub carrier? only thing i can think of is mabey the linkage rod is on the top of the hub mount instead of the bottom....i dunno mabey someone else will chime in because your right it should not do that.

M

EDIT: try and make this easy.

They are mounted on the top of the hubs, I will mount them on bottom and see if that makes a difference.
I bought the truck used and abused! I had to do a lot to get it running

Thanks, I will get back to you

Cool! that's your problem then...you will have adjust the links...on my sav x its 44.5mm gap between rod ends, so make them longer.

Thank you ModJunkie! Moving the linkage arms to the bottom of the hub made all the difference in the world!!
Now I can work on other problems LOL,
I got to start a new thread, MY XL 3 speed tranny doesn't seem to shift at all. I played with the 3rd gear adjustment, but have not cracked the box open to play with the 2nd gear adjustment.

Thanks again,

Pat

Spot on junkie.

I did that once myself when I first got the Lunsford turnbuckles.

You can eliminate the tb's with rear hub carriers or the HPI suspension upgrade.
