Hey guys!

I'm in need of some new hub - carriers on my savage xl, are Integy any good? Concidering the full Integy kit if you guys don't reccomand anything else? All other suspension parts are RPM! Got some cracks in my original hub's will just break anytime!

Thanks

I prefer not to use Integy myself. Never been all that impressed with their parts.

I have heard their hubs and knuckles are decent, I have no experience with Savage parts but have several Integy parts on other trucks and they seem to perform well for my purposes.... the way I understand it, most of their parts are made by GPM.....

Integy is fine as long as you pick the right parts of theirs to use. Just don't overdo it with aluminum parts. Integy's hubs have worked great for me.

The Integy rear hub carriers are a must, they will eliminate any slop you may have. No more adjusting the rear tie rods and also no more replacing the rear tie rods when they snap

if you are talking using those alloy arms and that I would stay away from alloy arms, something needs to flex somewhere else things bend and break.....

If you bash you savage then the HPI racing suspension setup is a very bad move.

Not alloy A-arms jam, defiantly not a smart move.

If you bash you savage then the HPI racing suspension setup is a very bad move.

Care to explain why ? Quality issues ? I was just looking at it of more of a, hey these are alloy as well. I have no experience with it yet so you have me intrigued now

I see no problems with putting the full HPI kit on a bashing truck. If you leave the a-arms, shock towers, body mounts, skidplates, and bumpers all stock or RPM plastic, then by all means put alloy bulkheads, knuckles, and carriers on if you can afford it.

I added bulkheads into the mix because the FLM units look nice and strong, and as long as you have the weak links I mentioned above attached to the bulk I can't see how it would cause any adverse effects???

Two main reasons. Your center of gravity is dropped, which in this case means that the truck is sitting lower with less travel available for the shocks. The other reason is that this kit uses only two stock shocks up front instead of four.

Now both of these issues can be fixed with the right setup. But alone the HPI racing suspension setup is not ideal for someone wanting to do big jumps and heavy playing with their truck.

Is this the kit we are talking about?

If so, I can't see where it actually lowers the ride height or center of gravity - the shocks, a-arms, and shock towers are still the same???
The caster/camber/toe angles are all changed and roll center changed to improve handling through these minor angle changes...but not much to do with actual ride height.

Now the single shock thing up front, seems like you could run the set of just 4 big bores all the way around and have better dampening anyways - or does this kit not allow the fitment of the bog bores? I for one, prefer the 4 big bores over the 8 shock setup on my Savage.

Yes, that is the kit.

The change to height isn't much but it's there. Check out the bolded description of the "aluminum upper arm brace" in the bottom paragraph. Changing the mount location drops the chassis a little.

I agree that 4 big bores are a better setup than the stock 8 shock setup. Again, I am simply stating that to put that kit on a stock savage will not be ideal, but it can be made to be. Besides, in my eyes it's really not worth the money spent.

Yeah doesn't seem all that great for how expensive it is. You are right - better cheaper options out there for a bash rig.

Ok I see were you are coming from now, thanks for explaining. I myself, found a RSC for cheap used so I opted to run one but I also have big bores and a lcg flm tvp set. But I see how losing 2 of 4 front shocks would not be ideal for airing out a jump. Still an option then if you can find a deal and have the necessary changes then, I guess
