Savage X upgrading to 5.9 (or other)

So my poor old 4.6 is tired. Thinking it's time to upgrade to something with a little more bang.

Would a 5.9 be able to utilize all of the Savage X drivetrain components? Would the three speed transmission I have be able to hold? And the differentials?

Also, what other motors would you suggest other than an HPI made k5.9?

my 5.9 treated me well. Alot of people cant get it tuned right tho so they hate it. On the other hand.... would I bbuy a 5.9 to upgrade a mill? No. I'd rather spend the cash on another mill like: Axial (Great for the buck), Losi 454/Dynamite Big Red, or Picco. Your X parts will fit just fine on any of those mills. Might need a shim or two around the clutch bell here or there. All-in-all its up to you.

A LRP 30 engine would make for a nice replacement!

O.S. 30VG gets my vote. Ran 13 gallons of fuel through it before it needed a new back bearing an bushing.
