In the process of converting my X over to brushless. In looking at motor mounts most recommendations pointed me to kershaw designs. In looking at them I am torn between 2. What are the advantages/disadvantages of the V2 vs V3? I understand the V2 works with the existing transmission with the flux gear. And the V3 completely replaces the entire transmission.

Just looking a little help. I am leaning towards the V3

I guess it all depends on how much money you want to spend. Why not just search ebay for a stock Flux chassis, stock motor plate and clamp style mounts (VERY strong and ALZA racing makes the same type of mounts for the "finned"can motors as well.) and Flux battery boxes?

Basic setup, of course there are other things needed but this way it's done right, if you like to do BIG jumps then the clamp style motor mount is the only way to go in my opinion. I have had a Castle 1515 rip the endbell/can screws out of itself when mounted in a typical "face mount" screw in style mount in a truggy - not cool.

I am also skeptical of that Kershaw V3 mount - the adjustment is vertical, I would think that with really hard landings that inertia and gravity would cause the motor to want to travel downward, causing the gear mesh to get to tight. I can't say for sure because I have never tried the product personally, just a skeptical opinion going off of looks.

If you want to stick with a similar design to the Kershaw, check out these options. The FLM may require a bit of modifications to fit on a non-FLM chassis. I like the FLM because it does at least have a rear support though.
