Savage X starting problems. new to this

Just bought a Savage X accouple of weeks ago with a new motor.

I have had it running accouple times since I got it but stripped the spur gear first. Then the pullstart decided it wanted to not retract and so I have not had it running for a week or two. Just got the new Pull start and installed it and go to start the truck and it runs for about 5 seconds and just shuts off. I put a brand new Glow Plug in and put new gas in and still the same result.

I have a feeling that the Knob on the carb might have been adjusted by my one of my kids. But not sure what is causing this.

Well first off welcome to the forum, secondly it would help to know what you have installed and then we may be able to help more.....

Its a standard savage X K4.6. Nothing else installed.

Reset your carb screws to factory's settings, info Should be available if you download the manual. Hope that helps

I Messed with the HSN and got the engine started. Grabbed the controller and gave it some gas and it went about a yard and just stopped running...

It's a frustrating but rewarding hobby. That being said, definitely fuel issue and my guess is carb setting's. Do you have the manual?
