Hi Guys, have been trying to break my savage in, done first tank on blocks, no problem.

Now trying to do a little light run around, but the thing will not go forward, it goes backwrads fine, but not forward.

Any ideas guys?????

If its new check your linkage throw. Make sure the lil alloy arm that comes out of the unit is going into it a fair amount. Uploading pics for you.
I also recommend replacing the fuel tubing on the linkage with a firmer type

These will look a lil different than your RTR but tranny is the same. the linkage arm is floating in space. The reverse is coming out of that truck and the servo is out already
Note the tubing

Ok had a look, I'm thinking that the lil alloy bit needs to push in a little more, the top of it is in line with the hinged side, if that makes sense.

Could this be the only problm with these symptoms???

Thanks for your support

Ok, I mananged to reset the linkage so that bit goes in further, will try it out tomorrow!

Many thanks Bank, will let you know how it goes!

Well my reverse problem is sorted out, thanks bank
Done my break in, now its time for a little tuning!!!!

It went like a dream today, love it !!!

Hi guys, new Savage owner, from Greece.
I have the same problem as this one, and it seems the servo linkage is bad in my case too...
Should i remove that rubber tubing and put something else? Tried to re-adjust the servo but seems it just doesn't have the power to push the linkage far into the transmission box.

will it not go into reverse or forward?? I just moved the rubber tubing along a bit, i didn't touch the servo end, and it worked ok. You may have stripped the gear in the reverse module, I've done 2 of them now, it's not a strong point I must say!!!

Glad yours is now good Danelectro! I had forgot doing this thread.... happy I didn't move the photos!

mekios, Like Dan said above. Try to get it to match my first pic all the way in like that. The Red tubing I used is hard as a rock. It came off a 5 foot coil hose that retracts so it has no play. I never had a issue with mine after getting the soft stuff off it. but again try what Dan suggested unless you can find a stiff spacer then go my route.

Well this one is my case (just ignore the greek letters - it reads "reverse servo").
As you see the tubing is somewhat twisted in there. Where do i find some tubing now...? cornfused

Mekios I can't find your recent post in this thread, but looked at the picture.

It looks to me like the gear change ARM, has slipped, it should be sitting between the 2 pieces of rubber tubing, but yours looks to be sitting ON the tubing, have a look further up at Bankrupters pictures, then you can see where it should be.

Can't find the post either??? :dunno:

Nevermind, so it wasn't meant to be like that...
Somebody at HPI factory was messing with my reverse :cussing:

LOL, don't worry, it'll get fixed, Here are a couple of photos I took this morning of my setup, I did this based on BANKRUPTERS advice at the start of this thread.

You have to remember, when HPI say RTR, what they really mean is "you have to play around with your setup to make it work"!!!!

If you make your look the same it WILL work!!!!

Picture 1: This is how it should be if FORWARD gear

picture 2: this is how it should look in REVERSE gear

If you notice, the little metal arm attached to the gearbox is sat in between the 2 rubber tubes.

If you can post another picture, we can get a closer look

It may be because your account hasn't been activated yet??

Did you see my photos?? are they a help?

Yes, it's totally clear that my tubing has slipped. I'll try to fix it later on the evening.
It isn't much of an issue right now (during break in and tuning) as i can unplug the reverse servo, and push the lever with my hand to enable forward gearing.

Ok, that's good.

shout if you need any help, I'm no expert, but will help where i can!!
