Savage X reciever/battery box

I read that the XL receiver/battery box will fit in the X. Reason for doing this is that i got new HITEC servos and SANWA radio and it's kind of getting cramp in the box. Do i need to mod the box to fit in the X. Do you think this is advisable?

I know my Savage X radio box is cramped as all get out. If you twist your servo wires, they'll look almost braided and then you can use small zip ties to organize them in a sense

Never a bad idea to check the standard parts list on HPI's site for the model you're interested in to see what cross references.
