So here I am with my first cry for help.. lol
My savage has the roto start. From day one it been a struggle to start.
Constatly locking up the stater drill thing, but the engine wasnt flooded??
Anyway, after reading a few posts on here, I decided to strip the bit that that rotor shaft goes into.
I found that the hex bit is held onto the starter shaft by two small grub screws. One of these grub screws had come away and was floating around inside the casing. Obviously jamming the starter shaft from time to time.
Its all back together and seems to work fine now, thank goodnes!
My question is related to the disc brake. While messing with the savage, I have somehow managed to knock the brake linkage and the lever that it connects to has come out of its shaft.
I see that the lever tightens into the shaft via a small screw. Ive put back in and tightened the screw, but the lever seems really lose? should the lever that engages the brake pads spring back to a set position?
Bit of a long post, sorry lol
and a second 'sorry' for my lack of terminology/names for the parts/bits that I'm refering to!
Cheers
