Savage X BL conversion

I am waiting on my savage to arrive this weekend. I did some 5th scale trading and came back to build a brushless Savage. I need to know what I have to do as far as the transmission goes. I think I will use a Mamba Max Pro ESC and a Feigao 9xl motor on 4s and mechanical brake. I came across Kershaw Designs direct drive is that any good? Thanks

i looked at the Kershaw and made a thread here. i think maybe 1 or 2 guys have used it. it looks nice but the gearing is exposed to the elements which many not suit a savage :dunno:

I (like many others) converted a regular savage 2 or 3 speed tranny with the flux gearing for about $8.

Its easy to do and takes about 5 min.

I'm glad to see that other people want to use those motors. i want to get one i just wasn't sure if they would hold up. would that be the reason for the mech. brakes?

I just like the mech brake. I do have and extra nib cc 2200 motor

I have a cc 2200kv in my Mammoth ST and it's a bad boy. I just want the savage to jump and wheelie without breaking drive train.

I even thought about trading my extra motor for some much needed parts.
