Savage X 4.6 upgrades

Yesterday I installed a metal spur gear, racing clutch bell and HPI chrome pipe. Truck runs OK but seems to have lost some bottom end, doesn't wheelie as easy. Do I need to re-tune because of the pipe?

Yes, depending on the pipes, it can throw off your tune quite a bit. Also if your spur/ clutch bell combo are now a different ratio it will affect how the power is put to the wheels.

Thanks for the reply's and advice. I will due some lsn tuning. HPI say's the pipe will give more top end power so I would guess it is a give take situation. Gain some top end / loose a little bottom.

it should have good low end with some tuning

I ended up setting both needles back to base setting and tuning the truck. Runs great now.
