Hi guys,
I'm only new to this forum and relatively new to the world of savage. Recently I was doing some bashing and I couldn't do wheelies anymore. It wasn't that the savage didn't have enough power, it's that as I accelerate heavily it jumps to the right. The wheels all seem to have power to them but I'm guessing there's more power going to the rear left (or less to the rear right more likely) and before I pull apart the savage I'd love to know what's the probable causes to this. Rear diff?

Dog bones are dirty but appear fine, wheel hex has spun and jammed inside one wheel buti doubt it'll be spinning any further. When I accelerate it jumps slightly and sounds as though a gear is spinning but not making (much) contact. The spur gear and gears around it seem fine and are spaced correctly according to the manual and from what I've read online. So any other ideas or am I gonna have to pull it apart?

Are you sure that the hex isn't spinning inside the wheel? The stock hexes are horrible things and the standard plastic wheels are very soft. Once the hex spins inside the wheel it will keep on going and wont stop. I've had it happen to me on my second battery pack and it was same as you describe. It either wouldn't wheelie or if it did it would pull wildly to one side. (forgot which side now)

I doubt it would be the diff. If the spider gears (some call them bevel gears) were shot there would be a lot of crunching coming from the truck especially when turning.

Ah you where totally right! Pulled off the front and rear wheels and hex's to compare and the hex's have shredded the wheels when I look at the front ones. Switched front to back and works great now. So I need to replace the wheels and hex's. Can you point me in the right direction so I won't buy crappy ones that'll do the same thing.

It just sounded exactly what my Flux was doing on it's second run. It sounded like you were talking about my truck. LOL.

I really didn't like any of the the offerings currently on the market. IMO they are pretty crappy. I know if a few people that use Integy ones and say that they are OK. I looked at them my self and wasn't all that impressed. Their design put all the load onto the end part of the stab axle which isn't all that strong. I decided to try and fit a set of proper truggy/buggy hex adapters. I looked at my RC8T 17mm hexes and thought that they would do the job very well but the stock Flux axle stubs were too short. I ended up getting some XL stub axles and drilled a 3mm hole in them to suit the hexes from the RC8T. It looks almost factory and works very well. Bot of stuffing around and probably a little more expensive compared to whats on the market but I think my setup is superior to any setup I have seen out there.

If you want I can take a picture or two of the job I did on my Flux.

Yeah a couple of pictures would be great thanks. I think I know what your saying but a picture is worth a thousand words, or something like that.
