savage A712 shocks

i need some shocks and came across these aluminum threaded ones made by HPI. They have a hefty price attached to them so I'm not sure if they are worth buying.

My questions is do i really need them or shocks in general are overrated??

the stock will prob out bash the ones your looking at or the big bores.

Ok thanks that's all I needed to know... I need to make them firmer though.... But I can't because I don't have those clips.
