Yesterday at the park I was running the savage. Naturally I built a crowd of curious kids and adults. Well, one of them wasn't watching their toddler and he ran out in the path of my savage at 3/4 throttle. Luckily I was paying close attention, as I swerved and purposly flipped the truck to avoid hitting the child. If I hadn't been paying attention that young child would have been struck by roughly a 12lb missile. I got away with a scratched up roll cage and a small minute scratch on the side of one of my engines cooling head fins. Not noticable, just one of those "I know its there" things.
I actually ended up having a nice conversation with the boys dad about rc, and rc safety of course. It ended with me giving him a card for the lhs. Long story short, pay attention to your surroundings. It could prevent someone from being injured.
P.S. Before I get the"you shouldn't run it at the park" speach, its a spot where lots of people from here go to break in our rc's. Its away from all the platgound equipmemt and there's an old pre-Katrina slab that makes a good spot for break ins and onroad running. Also a big grassy/dirt ground for offroading

Is OK Jay, and yes safety with these big trucks is always a primary concern, glad the little one didnt get hurt and I bet he learned something valuable also.....

Safety is the responsibility of everyone. You played your part well. Hopefully that father will take better care in the future. Way to often I see parents completely ignoring their toddlers in public. Call me over protective, but I always know what my little one is doing and where they are doing it.

I won't run my trucks with kids around, at least if there's more than a couple. People are too unpredictable and unfortunately, some like to "help". They get all confused when you yell at them from 100 feet away to not roll your truck over back on it's wheels. Last thing I need is some 10 year old kid cooking his hand on a pipe. I've hurt myself often enough with these things, don't know how awful I'd feel if some kid got hurt.
