I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on an RSC kit and I'm running XL extended axles which i love and want to keep.

I was just wondering if anybody else is running this setup? know of any issues? Would the extra stress on the bearings and knuckles caused by the extra length of the axles cause any problems with it or is the RSC strong enough to cope? Would the reduced steering with XL axles make the RSC pointless?

I really want the RSC but i also want to keep running the XL axles and don't want to ruin £110 worth of RSC doing so.

Thanks.

I am running them and it does concern me a bit. As long as you stick with zero offset rims you should be fine though.

Yea extended axles + offset rims might be pushing it a bit.

Dammit iv just bought new rims n tyres half offset lol

i'm your huckleberry 🙂

running 1/2" offset wheels, XL axles, and RSC. so far so good, but only time will tell. turning is fantastic, but i did shave off the steering stop. i reckon that if i didn't have o-rings in my outdrives, i may be at risk of the drive shafts popping out. so far so good...

yes, it is a flux. just to add some fine print: i like my setup, and it suits my needs. it may not be for everyone. 🙂

Londoner.... i've run it and i can truly say you won't have and probs.......just watch what rims you have like stated above. makes for an awesome handling truck....just do the steering mod trick i did if you want tighter steering.......

i have standard-length axles but 1/2" offset so it creates the same width & run an RSC.

like the boiz here said: it handles wicked.

couple buds have xl's and haven't trashed the bearings, I'm sure others may have. but if your concerned about it you can just change the bearings every 1, 2 gallons or so.

the handling improvement of RSC outweighs the bearing maintenance id say. x10

the way i see it wouldnt the bearing maintanance be the same rsc to stock. they do use the same bearings don't they

yes they are. i think the guys mentioned the bearings caz the rim sits out away from the carrier father & puts some leverage on the bearing race.

i have run xl axles for a while with my blue groove offset rims with only one bearing failure (in an integy rear carrier) in 3+ gallons but i 3+1 oil them religiously after every run

Thats great! I'm not overly concerned about bearings, i can replace them cheap as chips periodically, its mainly the extra stress on the RSC i was concerned about.

This kit iv been putting off buying pretty much since i bought my savvy in Feb and i don't wanna kill it in 5 mins lol youve all put my mind at ease now thanks.
