Is it possible to put a Traxxas connector on my roto start? and how would you do it? I just got it today and all my other batteries have those connectors on them.

Thanks,
Tyler

If you go to Ebay and type in Traxxas connector it comes up with the connectors that you have to sodder on to your battery or it will come with it on your battery when you buy it. I need to know how to sodder the other end onto the roto start. Also how do you post pictures?

The rolo is made to accept the Tamiya plug not the Traxxas one as the Tamiya female is molded right into the body of the Rolo. You will have to customize the Rolo Start to have a wired lead with the Traxxas connector if this is what you desire.

To post pictures you will need an external source such as www.photobucket.com or something.

Thanks Larsenracing. I was thinking that the one they make with the Female Traxxas connector to the male Tamiya connection might work.

There isnt enough room for a Deans plug before the Tamiya connector. I don't know how big the Traxxas one is compared to that.
I wired a battery into my Rotostart. But you could use the idea and Traxxas plugs instead of Deans plugs. The charge lead isn't necessary for the mod, I just didn't want to have to take the battery out any longer. Its 3900mah so it doesn't need charged often anyway.

I just wired 2 wires to a plug and ran it through a hole I cut in the end of the handle. The + is soldered to top of the switch and the - is soldered to the box at the front of the battery.
Way easier to charge this way.

Thanks Oregonmud. That is very helpful and looks great too. Would it be possible to use the charge lead because i don't really want to mod the box at all? Your way looks great and that would be the way I would do it if I have to mod the box.

Thanks,
Tyler

Thanks Whipnet that was exactly what i was talking about. I think I'm going to try that.

Thanks,
Tyler

I tried that route first but wasn't able to get the lid to close on the battery compartment without pinching the wires.
I hope you have better luck then I did.

Everything worked out great! The only thing is that the lid doesn't close but that don't matter.

Thanks for your help guys,
Tyler
