After seeing and reading an artitical about Port & polishing the nitro star 25 engine some time ago, I was sure that this was an area of experimentation I wanted to get around to doing some time...
And that is exactly what happened,.... TIME.... And as time passed,... so did the articals completeness. Hopefully, it may still be able to be restored to it's original state.

I was thinking (imagine that...lol) that one of us could get a hold of the magazine, RCCAR ACTION, that printed it.... The magizine's staff might be cool enough to look into their achives and find the missing links were looking for, and possibly give us the the whole artical intact, with the original color pics. At that point, we could seccure it in our own archive database, for safe keeping. Sound like a plan, anyone?....Just a thought...

You see, what's really great about this purticular artical is that it helps break down the fear factor in doing your own P & P work. While it still warns us to be very careful and aware of the cuts to the sleeve, ect, it's presented in a really cool, easy to digest, short form presentation.(with pics) It gets you rolling in the project, without alot of techical dogma that discourages the average newbie from even trying it. It's worth it to this forum to have it in it's archives, without question. In fact, I was really tempted to go and get a HPI 25 mill and proform this procedure, just to see the difference.

I hope one of us has the drive to get this artical restored to it's original state. Who ever does this will have a feather in their hat, as far as I'm conserned.

The name of the Magizine has been stated in this thread. All we really need is the photographer's insight. Steve Pond, the author, may be the person that actually ported the engine and wrote the artical and maybe has a personal record of his pics history. Infact, he might be able to get us a much better resolution of these pics, compared to the reduced sizes that Mags do to their pics. This, barring any legal issues, of course.

I'm just throwing out some idea's for anyone to start from. Heck, We might be able to buy a back issue from the Magizine itself, and scan in the pics with a scanner. That's if there was no other option, of course.

Who ever pulls this off, can either post the artical here, or start a their own thread for this artical.

Good luck, to those who attempt this research.---http://www.rccaraction.com---

This thread is basically a continuation to the "porting the 25" thread that is located in Engines/Clutches/Pipes.
It is there, where you can find an additional link to the partial artical (without pics) and also view some testimonials on the threads initial responses, when it was first posted.

==========I've brought this original threads subject matter to the forefront so it can regain some dirrect attention to it's intended purpose.============

I have already e-mailed the magazine. I e-mailed their webmaster e-mail Other people should e-mail them also. They have changed their front end and all the stuff from the old frontend seems to have similar problems.

I also tried digging up the pages from site caching engines like http://www.archive.org/index.php. Sadly the site is cached but the pictures are not.

I certainly apprecieate your efforts, MTBiiker. I'm not the best at this kind of E-net mission, myself. Any insight you can share others in the pursuit of this task is incouraged, needless to say. And thank you again, MTBikerTim.

DOOBSTER are you talking about the article that I have printed out The full complete P&P of the nitro star .25? cuz if I scan it into my computer would'nt I be able to post it here some how.Its a good scanner does color? anyway just thought I'd ask

ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok......ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok .....ok ok.But wait Doobee wants to do it so I'll give him copies of he knows how better than I do anyway...

Just an update to the subject.... I been preoccupied with numerous projects but will try and follow up on this thread. Hey Saavagecre. Remind me to get that artical from you, PLEASE... I seem to have lost some effort in reminding you myself...lol. ok?

Hey, Wannus. I'm still having difficulty with the files. they won't completely download. It seems that they stop after a folder has been created in My Documents.I'm running XP Pro on dial up.

Ok... since I can't get PM's through for some reason, I've made some plans based on the fact that I'm not the one to handle the files from Wannus.
I need MTBikerTim to send his e-mail address to Wannus so MTBiker can then open and post the contents of those files in the best condition he see's fit.

I elected him because he's more competent than I with these files.

If you accept this task MTBikerTim, it will be abig help. I hope that by the the time you read this post, you will already have recieved my PM's.

Please be patient with Wannus. He's based in the netherlands and has a hard time with the time zone differences.

=THANKS GUYS.= When your ready to post MTBiker, Please PM me so we can coordinate the articals arrival.
========================= May the PICs be with you.=======================

I have the files. It's a matter of what to do with them. I suppose I can put them directly into the forum as pictures and text. It will take a little while but i will do it. And i'm in australia so I am completely out of sync with you guys time zone wise.

No worries tim, Take your time and do your best. No matter what happens, its all cool here, bro. When your ready, just post it here. GOOD LUCK. Were all rooting for you, man!

Here is the Porting article!!!

Thanks to Wannus here is the porting article. It is in pdf as suggested by Wannus. I was going to cut and paste the text and pictures but decided for now it would be easier and faster to just post pdfs. Enjoy.

=========I would like to thank the guys that answered My rally call to this artical's whereabouts.=========

####### It just goes to show ya. You want something bad enough, you can make it happen. In this case, It took team work to present these files to HPISF.

======== For "Full Hunting Rights", this goes to Wannus.... He scouted the net and produced. Congrats to you, Wannus.========

======== For "Full Techical Rights" that goes to MTBikerTim. For making these files available for all of our PC's. He was also on the hunt with clever efforts to get the artical himself. Congrats to you also, MTBikerTim.========

*********Wannus, MTBikertim, and I, all hope that this forum gets the most out of this PORT AND POLISH tutorial.*************************
__________I felt from the beginning that it was the perfect introdution to get you at the work bench and modding you mills. Good Luck with your mills, HPISF.

Yep I am definitely going to give my my .25 which seriously lacks grunt a bit of a port and polish but I may wait until I get a new engine. I don't want to stuff my only engine and I don't want to have to rush the job either..

====For those of you who are still having issues with viewing the Nitro Star 25 Port & Polishing Tutorial ====
Please bare with us on the full presentation. Techical issues are still being worked out.
But,... Be happy, don't worry.
========== The documents have been found and secured ==========
