On my axial 32 it came with a 8 and 8.5 restrictor plugs for the carb. What are these for? I currently am running it wide open.

You don't need to use them, I don't. They are for different air filters I believe.

They are there to help with fuel economy & also effect how the
engines produces its power throughout the rev range.

I have 3 that came with my Mach.26

The smallest helps with bottom end power & gives great fuel economy.

The middle gives the best of power & fuel.

The big one gives great top end but drinks fuel like its going out of fashion.

Thanks, will putting them make it harder to tune?

i always thought they restricted the engines power. by letting less air and fuel in the carb. tell me if I'm wrong!

They move the power to different parts of the engines rev range.

If you are racing on a short technical track then you would probably
use the smallest carb mouth & tune for low down power & fuel consumption.

If you had a track with long straights & sweeping corners then you would
go with the biggest one for top speed but more fuel would be consumed.
