Removing excess glue from tires

Hey,

I was wondering if there is any trick to getting the excess glue that can run down the side of the tire. It makes it look ugly and really bugs me LOL. Like any solvent or anything like that, that can take the glue off but not do any damage to the wheel or tire itself.

I have used brake cleaner or acetone takes some time but works

Maybe masking it will keep it clean next time?
I don't know of anything that takes off glue residue...

Acetone is the same as finger nail polish remover. I have seen it as a recomendation to remove super glue so it should work. Acetone may melt certain plastics so be careful using it.
