You sure can rebuild a K5.9... I know tower hobbies has the parts you need but I'm not sure they have the best price...

Check Ebay often. I have a feeling you may be able to get a whole engine for not much more than the piston and sleeve. New engine will also have a new rod and bearings.

Look in your manual and get the Piston/sleeve part number out of it. thenn type HPIpartnumber into ebay. Should pull up a few hits. I think last time i looked for mine they were runnign 90ish. Might be lower now, and a whole new motor is usually about 160-180 so thats your call.

Cool, I didnt think they would have any p/s on the bay for the 5.9 yet. I figured a new one from a hobby supplier would be around $120. $90, its worth it.

Ok I have finally made a decision... In a attempt to learn more about my motor I have have decided to rebuild it.
I have ordered a new cylinder, piston and rod and a OWB.

Question, Cleaning the motor with a Nitro cleaner. Is it the same as your normal car carby or brake cleaner.?

I will also seal the motor while I have it apart. Which brings me to next question.
With running in, can I go back to 20% nitro instead of the 25% I have been running.

I did it... rebuilt the old 5.9 and she seems to be running sweet. Sealed the engine 1st as per the threads I found on here. I have run 3 tanks now with no over heating issues at all and its a hot day here in Oz.

I am using after run oil now, and make sure the piston is at BDC after use.

Just come back now to make sure every thing is nice and tight. Don't want that head coming loose again.

Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated.
