I am getting one of these new Quick Lidz, you spray your color of choice and your done. So once I spray down my color should I spray white over it? It's my first time actually "painting" a body and I think I heard you spray white down once your done to protect it. Any idea?

depends what colour you paint it.

if its a lighter color, green, yellow etc then backing with white will make it stand out more.

otherwise you should be okay just to put on a layer of the color and go.

Interesting you should say that. I am painting it yellow so is it wise to back it with white? If not what color should I use to back it with?

Unless you wanted a kind of sparkle effect. I used a candy blue on my last body and then backed it with Indy Silver and it looked really nice. The silver gave it a little more sparkle than I expected and it came out better than I figured it would, being my first body painting experience.

pending on your color, you use different backing colors....white is a safe bet though. Look at the LHS too though for the special backer for paintjobs. It's great for helping to reduce/prevent scratching and such.

I agree with chunky, It all depends on the color. I've always been told that for the lighter colors you 'll wanna back it with either white or silver. I'm getting ready to paint a new body myself, but I'm gonna practice first on some scrap pieces of lexan to find out what looks the best. And of course, pics will be posted. If I like how it turns out.

Yeah, there are some backings that help with body flexing to prevent cracking. Also, you can practice on old 3 liter soda bottles, that works great. Another tip with painting is using an ultra fine grit paper to lightly scuff the inside of the body. It will look somewhat foggy, but it's nice and clear when painted. Helps with paint adhesion. Practice on that lexan though, really helped with my masking.
