Question about the 4.6

I am in the process of a winter tare down and I am checking the motor and was wondering what kind of cleaner I could use and would it matter if it got in to the motor it self?

I would clean it with Simple Green and block the carb and exhaust port with something. I would stuff a little bit of paper towel and tape over it. You do not want water to enter the engine. Afterwards I would put some after run oil into the carb and spin it over and then lube the clutch bearings. To do the clutch bearings right you may have to remove the clutch. It would be a good time to look over the shoes will you're there.
