At my new job we use Aramid (the technical name that we use for Kevlar). But this is in a wound string form. It is flexable and can be wound very tight. We use it to protect the fiber optic cable. but i was thinking of trying it on a pull start. it is 10 times stronger than steel on pull strength. i know it will be stronger than the pull cords we have now but any one see how this can go bad? Any observations will be helpful before i do this.

I have seen Kevlar pull strings before, I say go for it what have you got to lose ;)

i thought about that and it will be a wait and see thing. if it does start to shed look out that stuff hurts when it gets in your skin.
