proline sizes?

hello all.
I am looking at getting some wheels with an offset to help prevent my savage x 4.6 from flipping its self round corners.
my friend runs proline trenchers and I have been looking on the proline website.
my question... what is 40 series? they say they are still 3.8 but I thought they were wider I don't understand?

@alexwright yes the 40 series tires are a much wider tire than their "normal" trencher tires.

I have always wondered whjat "40 series" meant. I run 2 diferent sets of Proline tires. Big Joes and Interco Super Swampers. In general they work OK. Good traction in grass and gravel. They both baloon at speed.
