In recent enlightenment of my body falling to bits.. I'm working on something I'm calling Project X. It's a simple body, yet, I'm taking some detailed steps in making sure that it's decent. It'll be a basher body, but I want to show it off first! 😀

So far, small details, nothing work looking at are done. The body is a Proline Streamliner.

Colors? Orange, Black, White, and green!

I'll post a picture on the next step, to show some progress! 😀

Here's a couple pics. My little brother accidently formatted my camera's card.. So I lost the second, and third stages of my body. The color didn't turn out perfect like I wanted 🙁 I was hopeful, but I got the dang thing too dark. I think it still looks alright, and I hope the last step, white backing changes some of the bad coloring. I doubt it will.

I did use a different tape this time, which I'm rather disappointed in. It didn't do any justice for the paint job... I used some 3m brand painters masking tape, and it didn't do a good job at all. It still looks decent for a bashing body. For my show body, I'm gonna use the good old stuff that I get at the LHS. I can't remember the brand name, but it works great.

For those who want to know, I was trying for a "Orange metallic flake" that is on a lot of the newer GM cars. I didn't want to use actual automotive paint, and figured it might come out where I wanted it. It was close, but no cigar. The green was a key lime flake, which I figured would work great with it.

By the way, I'm not using the new paint from the LHS for my next body. It was from I believe faskolor. It was in a spray can, and I won't ever use it again. I'll airbrush or hand paint them again. It was alright for a first coat, but really didn't do me justice.

However, I am particularly happy with the body other than the main color. I'm going with white windows, since clear is just bland in my opinion. I hope this base coating works better than the faskolor I used.

I have painted 16 or so bodies, and this one isn't the best, but it's decent I guess so far.

Let me know what you think. It's not a perfect body, but it'll do as a nice basher.

I tried cutting the flashing off... that is way thicker than 0.06... I've had a 0.08 for my RC10 that wasn't this thick.. I'm gonna have to go get a dremel to get this crap off lol. Good thing my dad has a 30k rpm model. This thing is gonna be a PAIN to shape...
