I just bought an aftermarket shock tower set. As soon as i pulled the old ones off, I noticed that the new aftermarket ones do not have holes for mounting the top half of the bumper front and back. This is a problem because the bumper is responsible for holding in the pins for the upper control arms. I can screw the top half into place but it is not sturdy and i would not trust it to hold the pins in place without being snapped into the shock tower. Are there any alternative methods to mounting the bumper securely or any method for holding the control arm pins in place? Thanks!

The ones you bought are for the old style savage 21/25, which really isn't all that old. They use a different style bumper mount which is actually a better design but will not work on the new trucks. You will have to return them (Shock Towers) and get some made for the X style chassis.

i have the same thing. i bought a set of losi shocks from BlazerX and they were from a 25, but i put a key ring on the rear bumper and ran a zip tie to the shock tower, and that works for now. the top pin will usually hold itself in, and the way the bumper mounts are pressed against the diff case, they are still holding them in. but if you can, get them replaced.

well i already ordered these... i like them better anyways
