gonna try your suggestions.......but let me ask this....should the clutches themselves move, spin with out spinning the flywheel? They arent moving. I can pull them out a little but they pop back in since they have a spring

if i understand you right no what makes the clutches come out is centrifical force when the engine is running more rpm forces the shoes out into the bell sorry about my spelling

ok I'm gonna put this thing back together, and order one of those kits and see if this works temporarily. I will be back.

yep

if i understand you right no what makes the clutches come out is centrifical force when the engine is running more rpm forces the shoes out into the bell sorry about my spelling

ok yes you understood me right, and that makes sense

i was having a similar problem and it turned out the washer i was using was to thick, the wrong size, got a new spacer an prob solved.

it was brass..........my bad. here is what I did. tightened the screw with threadlock, it is tight, and the clutch bell spins freely. Yes I could have torqued down on it and tightened it more, but you guys said it needs to move freely. It doesnt move in and out at all. I let the threadlock cure all night. Put the enging back in, lined up the spur with the cuth bell, primed it and it started right up!

I have to get to the gym, so my next step is tuning it up. Thanks for all the help so far, we gotta get this going so I have a bashing partner! I will be back my friends!

That screw that holds the clutch bell down must be tightened down all the way....loctite wont hold it for long. You might have to remove a shim or sand down the spacers to get it to fit right.

I would just like to say again that the members of this site are great. This is something that i have said before but when i read a post like this it just reminds me. Keep up the great work guys!!!!!!!!!!

The savvy fires right up! Now I'm in the tuning stage. Spent a little time out there today, but its kinda messy outside and I don't want to tune it in the rain. I looked at that shim kit, and I'm going to buy one, but how the heck am I gonna figure out what part goes where??? There are alot of little washers in there! X25, I would have ran my savvy over with my real truck if it wasnt for the help of everyone here. This site and the people on it are second to none. I wish we could have a get together sometime at like vegas or somewhere and everyone from the site meet up and party! I will keep you posted on the tuning, and then let you all know when the shim kit arrives.....Thanks everyone!

Its trial and error on what washers to use-all different thickness. Yeah a get together sounds great to me and Vegas would be a great local IMO.
I'm glad we could help and you are welcome!
Dave

Thanks pineapple! A get together would be awesome, wouldnt it? I think its realistic, we would just have to plan it a while in advance so everyone could make the proper plans. I understand on the trial and error now, I thought at first there was gonna be a specific way I had to figure out how to arrange them, like one way. But trial and error we can do. Of course, I will post pics to get help, lol!

thats great glad we could all help out on this one and x25 this site and all its members are first class thats probably why we all jump to help because weve all been helped here and are eager to return the favour.a get together in vegas man i wish that would be aweekend to remember. i just wish i could go to diggers dungeon my son would never forget that. good luck on the tuning an let us know.just tore my truck completly apart so ive got parts to buy and work to do i know where to get info if i need it lol
