hi i was playing with my savage today and it back fired loud and shut off so i checked if it would start up and it did but I'm not sure if anything needs to be fixed before i play with it again

How many gallons are on the motor? If it is worn out when the fuel ignited at the top of the cyclinder it could blow by the piston and come out the exhaust. I would remove the head and button and take a good look in there to make sure there is no damage to the sleeve or piston if it is not worn out. Other than that the way a nitro motor works it should be almost impossible for it to backfire unless something is massively wrong or it is very worn out.

If the engine is still fairly new they can make a loud "ping" sound when they die. Otherwise do what CCK said and check out the sleeve and piston for wear.

I'm like on 1.5 gallons about but i will check out the piston and sleeve tonight... when i check it do i got to take it right out? or just look at the top? lol i have never opened a motor before so what should i look for.

You shouldn't have to take the head off. I always just take the manifold off the engine and you can see one side of the piston and most of the sleeve through the exhaust port.
