decided to take my savage out and contiune with break in, i got it started for like 20 seconds then it dies, did this for like 10 minutes give or take, then it just wouldn't start period wanted to but just wouldn't i drained my hot shot 2 glow ignitor's battery trying to get it started, i have had the needles at factory settings, i adjusted them but no matter where i have the needles it just won't start, getting frustrated (maybe going to electric sooner than i thought i would) i just don't understand glow plug is new i even put in a new one to try later just. i don't know maybe nitro just isn't for me after all i will keep trying till its just to cold to be out side to run it, oh and yes i preheated the engine with a blow drier too thinking of maybe sending it to someone and having it professionally broke in then at least then if i still have trouble with it i know it won't be because of a bad break in lol. any help would be helpful thanks.

Double check your at factory. Then double check what you think is factory settings is what your book for the motor says it is ... After that turn the HSN 1 full turn in (lean) then the HSN 14/-1/2 turn in. Try and start again.

yeah i double checked the manuel says 3 turns out or "flush" for the HSN, and 10.5 to 11.5 for the LSN i put it at 10 out from closed.

i don't understand that last part in your post i understand the turn the HSN in one full turn in from stock, but i don't get the part after that sorry. thanks

I tried another way from what the manual said. Of course it was recommended by someone with more experience than me. LSN: set it a flush then back it out 1/2 -1/4 turn out from there. HSN as stated by Bank. Make sure the idle is set to .5mm gap.

LSN being "flush" is variable do to the fact that the part you set it "flush" to, is not a fixed part itself. (It can move in or out with its set screw)

So take what Joe said as a reference. Not to step on Joe's toes or advice ... Just that part can move and that setting "could" not be accurate by a few turns.

True statement. My Ball Joint Carb is pushed as far in on the drum. Or you can try backing out the LSN 5 3/4 full turns out from closed. Remember the climate and altitude will change how the motor performs.

well i finally got it started and stay started twice till about 215 degrees still won't start very easy still have trouble starting it and keeping it started but those two time are to me a success, and i got to drive it a little bit the second time i got it started at about 210 degrees and then it died like a minute or so after that. but now my glow ignitor is dead so try again some other time.
