my savage with the picco 28 was sitting in my closet for about 5 months now... i took the engine appart and cleaned it but I'm not sure how to tune it for winter since its winter right now.

any advice people? i would surely appreciate it...

i reset the LSN and the HSN.

Cut a old sock in 1/2 and wrap the head with it make sure temps are at least 210*

Don't lean out the needles to bring up temps.. In cold weather you need to richen the needles up

I've heard of the sock trick before.....I'n not sure which to use now the sock or the aluminum....

i've used the 1/2 sock folded over itself to double layer in -15 c temps in manitoba, canada here. haven't tried foil yet because the sock did the trick.

Yes be careful in the cold to not lean out the engine too much there is alot of oxygen in ice cold air and the needles should be richened to accommodate the increase in oxygen. Now that being said make sure to get the engine temps in the 190-220 range and keep that head wrapped with either tin foil or something to keep the heat in!! Hope this helps I'm a Canadian we know what cold is and we must BASH!!!!

yes we canucks know all about cold weather bashing!! ha ha

i live in toronto Canada so i guess ill use the sock trick as well....its about -10 right now

Does anybody know the factory needle settings for the picco p3 28 ?

I looked through the manual and it doesn't say anything about it.

winter bashing is the best bashing you can ever get. all the ice and snow really tests your truck to the limit.

i made several huge jumps last year and i cleared about 3-4 meter jumps with only about 5meters of runway with my AB modded STS 30 engine. it was insane.....this summer though...gonna be different with my AB modded picco p3 28 . might be able to clear about 6-7 meter jumps with the same runway distance with propper tuning. i put 30 tanks of break in through that engine so it should be ready to blast away..... i ran it maybe once after break in so its practically new.

The sock is a better idea, when you get metal on metal contact, you can also cause radio interference. That's not good as it could cause a run away. Neoprene (wetsuit) material works very good as well, it doesn't absorb water and retains heat very well.

hmmm interesting!! i have never thought of that before!! i've just seen alot of people use tinfoil thats all great point!!!!

hey guys i know this is an engine tuning threat but just a quick questions......why does my servo go full throttle and brake continuously when receiver batteries are out? (failsafe installed)

this has been happening for a while now

Seems like the first thing that pops into peoples minds lol, I have seen it alot as well, but i have seen mysterious radio problems come from it also, just a thought.

so this could be a radio problem or a servo problem.??

couldnt it be the failsafe since it only happens when the receiver battery is empty???
