Hi guys i haven't been on here in awhile but i have read all the threads about the Picco .28 and the Lrp .28. My question is how long is the life of the mill becuase i just bought the lrp .28 and not only have i have heard some good things about the mill but more bad things at my lhs the guy told me not to buy it, then a guy at the street track told me its a good mill. i purchased the Picco .28 as well not going to mod the mill tho :$broke:. so heres thing should i send it back and get another picco. please help. I have two savage one is the x and the other is the ss ,i wanted the picco and another good mill. i got the ofna throttle setup and the ofna 086 pipe, ofna silver alum. clutch shoes gearing axial 22 clutch bell, revo 36 spur gear thatsv for the picco View attachment 3711

The Picco .28 and the LRP .28 are both very good mills.
The picco is a mill to be modded though, but very good not modded.
The LRP is another beast mill, it doesn't have to be modded, it's a beast right out of the box. A lot of guys will tell you the same thing. IMO keep the Picco and LRP.

ya man you cant go wrong with either of them,i have heard however that the LRP is a bit easier to tune but don't have first hand experience with them...

Picco & Lrp

Ok i'll keep both mills just waiting on a delivery from tower hobbies with all my stuff. now the picco has to be modded to get full power, i watched some video's and saw robbins work i no i cant get that with the gearing I'm gonna use but will stock be affective with that gearing its an axial 22 clutch bell with the revo 36 spur gear. I'm not looking for that much power wat robbin is offering but i want to be a small beast lol oh yeah also have a 3 speed tranny on it to let me noif thats good what I'm doing thanks

wow so what do you recommend on the gearing i tested it on my axial .28 and it pulls I'm not looking for wheelies just straight speed but it bottoms out at top speed with that mill

Koolkat I don't run a picco but I do run one of Robin's combos (modded mill and pipe) and I found the stock gearing is great 17/47 pulls wheelies and gives me the speed. I also run the 3 speed trans with high speed third gear.

i was gonna go with robbins work but decided to get a second mill while i have cash for two mills. u no kill two birds with one stone

later on I'm gonna get another picco from robbin and pipe but for now this all i can afford

well guys i got my picco .28 and took it to lhs to have it broken in, and i was disappointed with the picco and the gearing, first after i got it home i started the truck up and i locked up on me so i got a hair dryer heated it up and was able so start it up again, then ran it for a few it felt tight at first then it warmed up but was sluggish on the take off but after second gear it wanted to pull more.third never came threw after i took out the other savge with the lrp.28 two speed tranny and it was a beast wheelies speed but at top speed it wanted more so I'm gonna put the three speed in it to see what the out come of the lrp. back to the picco i took it out today made a few passes and had to go in for a sec ,i pulled thr]e truck out again started it up and again it locked up man I'm already sick off this mill. itook out the pull start and put in the roto start next week ill try again but any advise on the picco well help out alot thanks for listening to my long long message

Did you at least run a gallon of fuel (1jug) threw the mill before you opened up the throttle?
Are you pre-heating the mill before you start it?
Are you running 47/17 gearing?

You will regret going to the rotostart, just saying.

yes i got it broken in at the lhs and no I'm not running the 47/17 gearing, but going back to it beacause its really for top end slow for low end, I'm going to run the 47/17 gearing and the roto start works better than the pull start I'm having trouble with the pull start . the mill locks up
