I turned to the OFNA technical officials and this is what they said is needed in order to do the conversion. I wanted to put my other Picco 28 in the truggy for bashing.
 
No the rear back plate OFN51537 Rear Cover Plate with cut is made specifically for the Picco pull start if you want to change it to bump start. Others refered to have to either cut the pin on the crank just to use the non cut back plate.
 
This part is all you need to convert your pull start picco .28 to a bump start. The back plate has a cut out so the pin can ride free instead of having to cut it off (which is the alternative) This way you can switch back and forth between bump and pull with no issues. It's best to use a bump start engine in a buggy or truggy due to the higher RPM's an engine will pull. all that rotating mass (pull start assembly) can wreak havoc at high RPM's plus it takes HP to spin it. Without the pull start parts, all the HP used to spin it is now freed up and sent to the wheels.
