I have the original Savage X with the old 4.1.
Just want a list of the things I will need to do this.
I am fairly tech savy.
From what I gather so far I know I will need:
Brushless motor and esc
2 lip batteries
motor mount
been told I will need to lock the transmission, found the HPI kit for it and seems pretty simple
new slipper clutch

now after looking at some of the kits on the market, do I need to replace the diffs?
I have not had a problem with them.

Please guys, don't be too hard on me.

the diffs should be good, it sounds like u have everything u need, I would put a whole new tranny in from a flux hp, tell us how it comes out

Sorry but out of curiosity, why not use the 2 or 3speed. Wouldnt that be sweet? I know the electric motor revs so high you don't need it but has it been done?;)

I've heard from most guys who have done this the gear change would not be able to handle the rpm's a brushless motor puts out.
That is why I was going to lock the transmission to a single speed, which is what most all brushless setups are.

Well, it's quite a nice package. Good gears. Also, you don't need to buy a mount for the motor, because that is part of this setup. I just think this makes for a very sturdy simple transition if you want to go electric.
