Opinions on structural changes...

I have purchased some second hand integy shock towers, but in my haste, didn't spot that they were different to the towers on my 21. They are for an X. Now, i did not realise that the towers had been through a design change.

My issue, i have an almost full aluminium 21, and the integy shock towers do not fit with the 21s bulkheads. My plan is, to build my X up with the ali parts and keep the 21 as my basher.

My question, i want to remove some metal. Be this from the shock tower or the bulkheads. Which is a better option? I am swaying towards the bulkheads, but it is probably a simpler job to remove the nibs from the towers.

The gearbox and bulkhead seem to be a single part on the X and XL, compared to the 3 parts that the 21/25 had?

These are the differences i was talking about. The shock tower on the X has an extra piece that slots into the bulkhead to take the top arm rod. The 21/25 tower does not fit in here, as the bulkhead, has the central bit of metal which holds the top arm rod. (Hope that makes sense)

I believe that if i remove either the extra bit on the X tower, or the bit in the 21/25 bulkhead (circled) that i can retro fit these together...

Thoughts?
