Hi guys I'm very new to this and just got a hpi savage but when u went to turn it over with electric start in my drill I forgot to take it off forward and think it's damaged the one way bearing as now when I tryou to start in with the drill in reverse it just spins very freely and sounds like it's not turning anything. Pls can I get some help oneeded this thanks

Turning the Roto start in forward should not damage your owb. If it's not grabbing while turning in reverse, it sounds like a owb problem. Only way to find out for sure is to remove the Roto start off the back of the engine and see.

Great thanks for your help mate look forward to getting it up and running as iv never had one

Clean the one way bearing with some motor spray or denatured alcohol and put a dab of grease inside and make sure to reinstall the same way it came off.....

Do you know what engine you have? If it's a f4.6 the owb will be right behind the plastic Roto start plate. If it's a k4.6 there will be a shaft with a hex on the back for the Roto to grab.

Thanks I'll take it off tomorrow! Are they easy to take off for a beginner

It looks like a pre-x model, I'm not too familiar with what engine you have there. I'm sure someone else here can help you with identifying it. But either way you'll still have to take it out and pull the Roto start off to check your owb

I answered the engine question in post #7. 🙂 Everything else in that picture looks like a Savage 21.
