For a while now have been going round in circles thinking my good old Fioroni clutch shoes had worn out as savage had lost its mojo & was accelerating at half its usual pace. This was also swapping out shoes for another what I thought good pair with no luck & finding one of the engine head bolts slightly loose hoping this was the cause & losing some compression.
It was only on the last time of putting it together & testing that I noticed tiny brass specs around engine & g/box appear that I thought a more closer look at engine was needed as something was clearly not right.
Turned out to be the brass collet wearing away & the nut on the flywheel was slightly loose so full power was not transferred onto clutch bell.
New collet fitted & savage back to full speed, just amazing how you can go down one false rabbit hole of thinking, Lol! 👍🏻
