Hi guys,
So far I have found the following bits,
Collet set with spring (not sure on size as it does not state)
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/392140872582

Linkage sliders (again not sure on rod thickness as this does not state)
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/282440169295

Servo horn - read some where , a person suggested to not get anything shorter than 35mm
Not sure what 21t or 25t mean ?
Not sure what servo to buy even
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/283148938849

Ball link arm
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/183407088314

Threaded rods - not sure what length or thickness I need ?
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/143008979349

Not sure if I need these following Bits ...
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/352529823740

Not sure on size for this ?
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/141685831896

Hope you can help

21t and 25t are the tooth count or splines on the servo motor where the arm mounts . You can look up the part # for your servo and should be able to find splines count . I haven't done this mod yet one that I am interested in as well .

You will need the sliders and linkages you listed above, those knurled collars are ok but they will need to be setscrewed down, use locktite on those setscrews also they will vibrate right out and be gone, just get a short piece of 2/56 or 2mm allthread rod and make your linkage to the carb bellcrank, as for the ball you need a 2mm ball and ballcup will fit fine.....

Looking for a servo? anything with a torque rating of 150 oz/in should serve fine in that duty...

you want your finished linkage to look something like this....DSCN6938.JPGDSCN6941.JPG
so you will need 2 sliders a length of threaded rod I used 6 ofna collars and 1 ball link and ball, and the correct servo arm to fit your choice of servo.....

I built my linkages out of what I had laying around at the time, the black slider is actually off the original linkage just cut off and drilled to fit the brake rods into it, I have since removed the springs and went to fuel tubing instead it gives a better feel to the brakes...

You also may have to trim the top and side of the radio box for clearance, I trimmed mine so it did not interfere with the movement...DSCN6938.JPGDSCN6941.JPG

This mod was one of these best things I did when my savage was nitro!
My advice is double and triple check that you have all the required parts! I tried cutting corners due to being impatient and all it did was hurt the wallet having to constantly buy more and more parts :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Not that you need to but you could also get an aluminium throttle mix. I found one that had bearings in it just for less resistance. Too be honest it doesn't really change a lot, just makes it look nicer :p

I also got that bellcrank, I like it because it doesn't flex like the stock one does and it helps it is actually shiny and functional...

i assumed it was to do with the teeth. however currently i am unsure as to what servo i will be buying - so does that mean I'm probably best not to buy the servo horn just yet ?

If you are looking to buy a single servo horn, I would wait until you decide on which servo you will use it with. There are a few different spline counts and unless you buy a few different horns, you may end up needing to order again.

Totally agree, find the servo you want first then look at what horns to get that will suit that servo

also be aware there is very little stress on the throttle servo horn and it is ok for it to be plastic, in fact most servos come with a few linkage horns that very well may fit what you need... Mine is the horn that came with a servo set I just used what I had on hand....

I have seen people do the OFNA mod without this part

Is it recommended to use this part (wether stock or aluminium)

Hey Jam
Hope your well,
knurled collars = I sssume your are referring to the 2nd last link I posted ?
If so I will scrap them of the list , as I was unsure wether I needed this or not.

Sorry jam for my ignorance which part is the ball cup ? ?
Where does the ball cup and 2mm ball actually go ?
Got any pictures please ?

Thanks

Throttle mixer and Bellcrank are the same part, if you bothered to look at the pics I posted you can see the ball and ballcup go to the mixer/bellcrank..... see the orange ballcup, see the shiny thing it is attached to
?? that is the ball which is screwed into the mixer/bellcrank... and I did not say not to get the knurled parts either just look at my setup, you are going to need 6 of them if you do something like I did.......

Jam,

Have you not been taking your happy pills lately ?
No offence but your coming across very rude lately!

“If I bothered to look” = either I’m blind or you seem to think i have special powers that I can see stuff that isn’t in a picture!

Yes I can see a about a quarter of some orange bit towards the end of your pictures! - not exactly clear ?
The new picture you have posted thank you , I can now relate to the part you was referring to.

Knurled part - if you bothered to read my question properly ?
I am asking do I need this part or not ?

As I am unsure if KNURLED is a different part to COLLET
When reading the description it comes across to me that this part is like the plastic screw thing that comes in the rod on the stock item, where you can adjust and decide how tight or loose you want the spring to be
The below first link collect set - yes I know I need these as, this is what you are using (purple and also red bits in your pictures)

Collect set:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/392140872582

Knurled:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/352529823740

Are these 2 parts basically the same thing ?
Or is the knurled part , is what I’m thinking it is ?
Which is the screw adjuster thing that is normally near the servo and the spring

sorry if I seem that way to you, I don't take happy pills, but it does seem you need to be led to the exact thing you are asking about.... and yes the collets are basically the same as the knurled ones, just get the smooth collets they will work fine...... the way you are going to adjust the linkages is by moving the collets to add or release tension to the linkage....

I'm not quite sure I understand this... The ali upgrade is not required. However this part, stock or not is DEFINITELY required. I can't see how you could do this mod without a right angled link to attach to the throttle on the carb.

If I understand this correctly - no you DON'T NEED the ali version of this part, but you DO NEED the stock part at the very least
