My truck has been in peices since the first of the year. I have a bunch of new stuff to put on it. Bulks, BP diffs, RPM stuff the list goes on and on, But for some reason I cant find the Motivation to do it. I start do it for ten mins than say forget it and go watch tv. I figured it would get better and I would do it when spring got close. Spring is less than a month away and I still can't bring myself to finish it.

What is wrong with me? HEck I was even planing a trip to go run with some members in less than three weeks and If I don't get to it soon I fear that I may find something I need when it is to late to order it.

Welcome to the Winter Blah's 🙂

I am in the same boat. I was totally solo all weekend - no kids, g/f, anything, and even though I had all that time, I only got a little bit done on the Savage, nothing on the Baja or the Savage for my son...

I did get all the custom wiring on the Jeep done, but that's because I needed it for my light bar...

I'll get to the Savage - hopefully before the snow melts 🙂

Yep its the weather. Yall haven't heard from me in forever. Then the weather got awesome and boom I been back building and painting like 2 trucks a week. But now the rain started. Been down pouring for 3 days non stop and feeling the blah humbug again. Come on spring let's get busy already sheesh. All these trucks and not enough excitement to touch them. Maybe if I get a few parts to do a new build ill get motivated. Uhhgh don't know.

Feeling "blue" in the winter?

Studies show a trip to your local tanning booth will perk you up.

No joke, your body needs the sunlight.

I actually did a study on it for psychology.

If your clinically depressed or have SAD "seasonal affective disorder" it is another story, go see a professional.

Winter blah's... 15 min tan.... feel better... try it.

I actually suffer from seasonal depression.

Bright side though this year no meds. This forum has kept me going all winter.

I'm sure its the weather even though i just got done with the mid tank build i was not that excited about it because their is like 3 freekin feet of snow out side. and spring is no good here in ohio all it dose is rain so i wont be running till late spring or summer.

Don't mean to rub it in, but it's been nice and sunny here. I've actually been out running the Savvy and the Blitz's the last couple of days. Was getting some big air but then I lost the rear diff in the Savvy. I haven't open it but I'm pretty sure it was just the outdrive pin on the non-ring gear side. I have the BP diffs in the bag that I haven't installed yet so I'll be doing that today. Heli is down too until I get a tail drive belt and some tail shafts. Bummer missing out on this good flying weather. Even when it's nice here it is often quite windy, but today it's nice and calm. Oh well, at least I have the other stuff to keep me busy.

ya the "winter blah's" are actually considered a type of depression now a days so motivation isnt a strong point lol

Same here, wait till you get it back together though, the first time you run it,all will be well mate 🙂 :rock1:.

2 of us killed engines back in November,we had new engines 3 days later but didnt bash again until January. We bash every other Sunday & that was only the second time last year we hadnt been. Was wierd not going bashing for a few weeks. But,looking back,it was nice to take a bit of a break,so enjoy it why it lasts !

If your lookin for some motivation, try looking back through old bash pics on your cpu, youll soon be itching to get it back together & get out there again:rock:

Oh I want to go run. The sun is making a comeback and the snow is melting away. Roads are clear now and temps are decent enough to finish breaking in the picco.

I need to just buckle down and do it once I get started and get it going I won't have a problem.

OK saying this is true... the sun is closer to us here in the states in winter I spend 40 Hours a week outdoors. Its not helping.... I see how that would effect peeps afraid of the cold but in my line of work its not a option...

don't mean this in a bad way but you see to be in that slump more than your out of it.

Fred I have two words for you ... one is off and the other I cant post here bad word

Dude my truck has been in pieces for about 6 months. I know as soon as it starts to warm up I'll get the urge again.

bank while you may spend 40 hrs a week out side in the winter how much of your skin is exposed to the sun? we need uv rays to naturally make vitamin d which we all lack in the winter so yes a tan will help. but vitamin d supplimental foods are better. same goes for you pope lol

Really I am going to try that. I started meds during the winters back when I was a teen after the depression got well it got really bad.

Wow I thought I was the only one. Seemed like everyone else always had something going on, besides me. Alot has to do with not being able to get the parts I need to build a cool truck, I've been dreaming for years. I have some things already but still need alot to build a complete truck.

On a brighter note my buddy blessed me with some X parts that I have begun to get mine back together over the last couple of weekends. Nothing fancy (stock X layout--retired the 25 budget midtank) just trying to get it running again.

This forum does keep me going though, I enjoy hanging out with everyone! If it wasn't for HPISF I probly would have layed it to rest. Thanks fellas!!!!
Remember guys :hpisf: "Where Hobby Becomes Family"!!!!!!!

The winter blahs haven't been so bad this year for me. We moved to a new house just before Halloween and now I actually have a good spot in my garage to work out of.

I've started ordering parts and getting things planned for a back up basher this spring. Ive actually had the Savvy out a few times too messing with my radio and getting my sub-trims, expo's and all that jazz worked out.

Last year I spent the whole season building my truck and missed 95% of the good running weather. This year I want to make the most of it and get more than ¾ of gallon through my motor.

:lmao3:so if I build a scaffold 3 bucks high .I could stand on top and bash through all the fences.....turn the hole block into a track , we don't need no sun...LOL
have'nt had
sun for over a mouth anyway

double a your tank is backwards on that flm truck...

But I know what you guys mean same here but I don't run because I don't have any money but I don't even fell the urge to run.

Well, I finally got off my tail and got to work on the vehicles last night 🙂

I finished mocking up the new FLM stuff and figuring out what needed to be fabricated, and started putting the parts together with the appropriate amounts of Loc-Tite. The rear bulkheads are all re-assembled, front bulkheads are drilled and JB Weld is setting (done tonight). I'll put more details in my project on all the goodies done at least. Rear suspension is done (Big Bores, XL Extended axles), trans and motor mount is in, steering servo, etc are all in. I need to wait for a few small parts and the RSC kit (should be here today) then I can put the pedal to the floor and get it up and running in shape for bashing!

The Baja is also almost done. New DarkSoul extended axles are in, new VVC shocks, B body conversion are all done. I just got the decals for the new flat-black body which I should be putting on today, get THAT project done.

Then I just need to repair the Hellfire, rebuild the 8ight, and build a Savage for my son - gah - too much more to do!

Anyone want to come over and help? 🙂

Bob

Cool Bob we should get together to finish all our builds. Maybe make our way to Joe's garage or something.

Not a bad idea, actually. Would suck having to pack everything, but would be worth it to get to hang, drink beer, and get this thing done already...

Joe - you just got volunteered 🙂

well its been scientifically proven that people who live in places like orgeon are more depressed then people who live where theres sun constalty. There hardly any sun in Oregon lol always cloudy or gloomy so yea I'm glad i live in a desert with plenty of rays lol
